An Evening at the Cinema: “12 Years a Slave”

The PBKACA film group returns from a long spell in captivity with 12 Years a Slave, the breathtaking true story of a free black man in upstate New York kidnapped and sold into slavery in the Antebellum South. Based on Solomon Northup’s written account of his ordeal, this compelling and dramatic film has been receiving rave reviews.

As usual, we will meet at a nearby venue after the show to briefly discuss the movie. Topics of discussion will include slavery, slave owners, justice, morality, and possibly a few other light themes. We hope you can attend!
